Golf Pro Shop: Desert Island's fully stocked Golf Pro Shop has a wide variety of merchandise (equipment and clothing) to fill all of your golfing needs. Golf instruction is offered by PGA / LPGA Golf Professionals.
Tee Time Availability: Desert Island has a low membership cap so members are ensured of being able to play. Normal play is a four-hour round. Tee Times can be made three (3) days in advance. The friendly golf staff is always willing to help “set up a game” or “fit you in”.
Men’s Golf: A variety of competitive individual and team tournaments are held throughout the year. Men’s “Choose Up” is on Wednesday & Saturday mornings, just “show up and go”. Enjoy a mixture of “team” games, lite lunch and prizes. Nine Hole Group available on Friday mornings.
Ladies’ Golf: Desert Island has a very active Women’s Golf group. As a member of both the USGA and WSCGA, they maintain an active schedule throughout season. Thursday is Ladies’ Day - golf and lunch. There are also monthly luncheon meetings, Guest Days and various tournaments. Formats are varied to allow for interchange of golf partners and participation. All levels of handicaps are welcome.
Desert Island Niners (Ladies 9-hole Group): The Niners gather on Monday mornings for nine holes of golf followed by snacks and a social gathering. This is an informal golfing group that focuses on the fun and social aspects of the game.
The Islanders (Ladies Putting Group): The Islanders are a fun-loving group of ladies who putt each Thursday during season. Social members and Desert Island Niners are welcome and encouraged to join. The Islanders also have weekly luncheons during season and participate in competitive tournaments with other clubs.
Year Round: Although many Desert Island members are seasonal, there are active year-round members who enjoy weekly golf events and dinners.
